Dubai has set a new record with Princess Tower as the world's tallest residential building.
Building: “Princess Towers” in Jumeriah , Dubai
Height: 413.4 metres (1,356 feet)
Area: 37,410 square feet
Floors: 101 floors
Dubai already has famous Burj Khalifa, the 2720 ft high tallest structure in the world. 

MoU signed between India & Myanmar with $500 mn credit line for Myanmar

MoU inked b/w the EXIM bank of India and Myanmar Foreign Trade Bank
MoU on:

· Border area development
· Setting up Myanmar Institute of Information Technology
· Setting up Advance Centre for Agricultural Research and Education at Yezin Agriculture University.
· Establishing Rice Bio Park
· Establishing of border haats across the border between the two countries
· Cooperation b/w Indian council of world affairs and Myanmar institute of strategic and international Studies.
· Kolkata University and Dagon University Yangon to collaborate on higher studies and research.
India and Myanmar will also launch bus service from Imphal to Mandalay.
Nay Pyi Taw is the new capital of Myanmar, earlier it was Rangoon.

Kavivar Gopal Singh “Nepali”

Kavivar Gopal Singh Nepali’s birth centenary celebrated. President Ms Pratibha Devisingh Patil received the book “Meri Rahi Kahani Kewal” from Kavivar Gopal Singh Nepali Foundation, on the occasion of the Birth Centenary Celebration of Kavivar Gopal Singh ‘Nepali’.
Born in 1913 at Bettiah, Gopal Singh Nepali was one of the most renowned Hindi poets of all time. His poems evoke patriotism, love for nature and humane values. He also wrote lyrics of a few Hindi films. His famous poetry collection includes - 'Umang', 'Panchhi', 'Ragini' and 'Nilima'. He died in 1963.
Was Kavivar Gopal Singh Nepali an Indian or Nepali?
=>Poet Gopal Singh was not a Nepali but has taken this as a part of his literary name.
Nepali and his 1962 Indo-China war connection:
During the 1962 Indo-China war, Nepali lifted the spirits of Indian citizens and Indian soldiers via his Patriotic Poems and Songs and he went to the border in order to recite them. The patriotic songs and poems include Savan, Kalpana, Neelima, Naveen Kalpana Karo,etc.
Controversy: “Darshan Do Ghanashyam” v/s Slumdog Millionaire

Son of Gopal Singh Nepali: Mr. Nakul Singh Nepali filed a suit at the Bombay High Court against the makers of Slumdog Millionaire, asserting that Director of the movie Danny Boyle has wrongly credited poet Surdas for writing the song Darshan Do Ghanashyam. As per Mr. Nakul his father Gopal Singh Nepali originally wrote the song. Actually, the song is originally from the movie Narsi Bhagat (1957) written by Gopal Singh Nepali. But in the movie Slumdog Millionaire the author of the song "Darshan Do Ghanshyam" is said to be the blind poet Surdas.
