Prithvi-II ballistic missile successfully test-fired----The nine-meter tall missile, built indigenously by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), was launched 9.00 hrs on 26.9.11 from Launch Complex-III of the Integrated Test Range, Chandipur, Orissa by the personnel of Strategic Force Command as part of regular user trial. The liquid-propelled Prithvi-II is a single stage missile and equipped with sophisticated inertial navigation, control and guidance system. It can carry payload of 500-1,000 kg and has already been inducted into the Armed Forces.
